J. Cole Makes History with “The Off-Season”

After not releasing a studio album in over three years, J. Cole has made history. The Off-Season is Cole’s sixth studio album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, a feat no other artist has accomplished before.

J. Cole blends the work ethic of a musical artist with a basketball player, which was another dream of his when he arrived to NYC for college. In July 2020, Cole wrote an article in the Players’ Tribune that broke down his fork in the road, where he had to choose to either pursue music or basketball full time.

Days before his album release, Cole became the first solo artist to grace the cover of SLAM Magazine, where he discussed the concept of The Off-Season and his future project The Fall Off.

J. Cole features 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Bas, and 6LACK and delivers on each of the 12 tracks. One of Cole’s greatest projects to date, The Off-Season solidifies Cole as one the greatest artists of this generation.
